Enjoy sailing in Southern California's beautiful ocean swells and sea breezes during Fall! Competitors depart from Balboa Pier in Newport Beach and head west to the 14-mile "Laussen Knoll" bank. After departing "Laussen Knoll", boats continue south to the finish in San Diego's Point Loma.
The 2017 Rum Runner Race marks the 4th year of the event developed in partnership between San Diego Yacht Club and Balboa Yacht Club.
ORR Ratings will be used for the Rum Runner race. You can use a previously measured ORR certificate, or you can get an ORR-ez certificate from ORA. ORR-ez can be secured in under a week.
