Due to COVID restrictions, this clinic will have to be very different from our past HPYS clinics with no pizza dinner, no post-clinic snacks or indoor group debriefs. We also may need to limit participation numbers and we are expecting primarily local participation.
GOAL: A safe, socially-distant high-performance clinic for Laser Radial and 29ers.
COACHES: For 29ers — Cameron Biehl, For Radials — Richard Didham.
We will have additional coaches if we need to divide teams into training groups based on their skill/experience level.

ENTRY FEE: $100/sailor (SDYC member charge discount of $25). Sailors in the double-handed boats must sign up as a team and both sailors must register. All non-same-household, double-handed teams must comply with SD County COVID regulations. If the clinic is cancelled, we will issue full refunds. We may cancel any classes if we don’t have a minimum of three boats/class, so please sign up as soon as possible.
CHARTER BOATS: Limited 29er charter boats may be available, please contact bryan@sdyc.org. Laser charters may be available from charters@vela-la.com.
SCHEDULE:
Saturday: 10AM – 4PM Clinic and short outdoor debrief.
Sunday: 10AM – 4PM Clinic and short outdoor debrief. We will try to have class-specific zoom debriefs at a set time during the following week, Date/time TBD.
MEALS: Sailors should bring their own lunch, snacks, and water.
VENUE: We will be sailing from SDYC out to the ocean off Point Loma.
GEAR: Masks must be worn at all times when not on the water. Be prepared to be on the water sailing for 4 hours each day. Bring appropriate gear, dry bags with extra gear, and plenty of quick, healthy snacks to keep you going!
