SDYC

This HPYS supported clinic is a multi-level 29er format for both new sailors looking to tryout a 29er and intermediate and advanced teams preparing for the upcoming SCYRA season.

Format

Planned dock out time is 4:15pm. Training will be held in the La Playa Basin or the shoal depending on wind and crowds. Expect to be back at the dock around 5:45.

Debrief and discussion with Nevin to follow.

If you need a 29er to charter or a teammate, please indicate that on your registration form. There is a limited supply of HPYS loaner boats so Coach Jon will make final decision of pending charter.

Coaches

  • Nevin Snow grew up at SDYC sailing Sabots, FJs, Lasers, 420s and match racing. He attended Cathedral Catholic where his team won the High School Nationals in 2010. After finding small success in Lasers, Nevin committed to match racing and succeeded in winning the Governor’s Cup, US Match Racing Championships, and World University Games.

While at Georgetown University he studied Physics and Math and was twice College Sailor of the Year and helped his team to 3x National Championships. Since graduating, Nevin has been full-time sailing the 49er in order to qualify for the Olympics. Together with his teammate, Dane Wilson, he won the 2020 Olympic Trials, however, the USA did not qualify to send a team. Nevin enjoys surfing, cycling, basketball and working on every aspect of his boat. He currently lives in Boston, MA.
