This clinic is for sailors preparing for the Cressy (High School Sailing Single-handed) Qualifiers.
COACHES:
Rosie Chapman is an internationally-respected coach who has led multiple athletes to success including Gold medals in the ILCA 6 at Youth Worlds. Rosie was named US Sailing’s National Coach of the Year in 2017 and has coached high performance teams for her home country of Britain as well as for Canada, New Zealand and the US.
Maru Urban was named the 2021 Sail1Design Coach of the Year and coached with the US Olympic & Paralympic Team at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Maru ran a very successful laser program as the Head Coach at Key Biscayne Yacht Club.
Lillian (Lilly) Myers is an American sailor campaigning for the 2024 Olympic Games in the ILCA 6. Lilly attended Cornell University and has most recently won the ILCA North American Championship.
We will hire additional coaches as needed to provide appropriate instruction at a ratio of 10 sailors to at least 1 coach.
Clinic cost is $200. Late fee of $50 after September 1st at 5:00 PM. The clinic organizers may be able to arrange a limited number of charter boats at a cost of $150/weekend on a first come/first serve basis. Sailors may sign up for only one day at the cost of $100/per day.
Schedule: Be rigged and ready each day for a 10AM meeting. We’ll be off the water by 5PM on Saturday and 4PM on Sunday.
There will be pizza on Saturday during the post-sailing debrief.
Venue: SDYC
Gear: Be prepared to be on the water sailing for 4 to 5 hours. Bring appropriate sailing gear for water temps in the low 60s and a dry bag with any extra gear and plenty of water and quick, healthy snacks to keep you going!
