Over August 16-18, Jack Plavan, Jack Egan, and Taisei Hatter had the opportunity to go to San Francisco to sail in the America's Cup Open in O'pen Bics with many qualified kids coming from all over the world.

The 2013 Laser Pacific Coast Championship was held in the Columbia River Gorge, July 12-14. Famous for its extreme thermal breezes, "The Gorge" is a fantastic big breeze venue to practice and race in.

For the second year in a row I (Molly Pleskus) have been lucky enough to attend the U.S. Junior Womens Singlehanded Championship for the Nancy Leiter Cup and represent San Diego Yacht Club, thanks to help from SDYC.

The 2013 Laser US National Championships were held at Santa Cruz Yacht Club, on June 26-30. Due to a strange front that came through three days before the regatta started, our training days were all characterized by cold weather, rain, and no wind.

Over the weekend of June 29-30, Team SDYC competed in St. Francis Yacht Club's Team Race Invitational hosted at StFYC in J/22's.

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club (AUS) beat the Kiwi's from Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron-Chris Steele (NZ) in the Finals. Team SDYC finished 4th with a strong finish to push into the semifinals.

The 2013 U.S. Jr Womens Singlehanded Champs (USJWSC), hosted by the Beverly Yacht Club in Marion, Mass., kicks off this Wednesday, July 17 for three days of racing on Buzzards Bay featuring top-notch youth sailors from all over the country including SDYC's Molly Pleskus.
