SDYC Members Nevin Snow and Jake La Dow joined 3 other American sailors to form the US team competing in the ISAF Youth Match Race World Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Sailing J/80s and under the coaching of Dave Perry, Team SDYC/USA finished 3rd overall in an extremely competitive field.

The J/22 Fleet will host another ten-ish weeks of Wednesday night sailing this year in La Playa; we sail short courses, no spins so this is actually a good time to drink beer and regale your crew with tales of sailing glory.

There is a lot of emphasis placed on which club and which boat won the Lipton Cup. And, for a few weeks, days or hours after the awards dinner has been digested, the sailors dominate conversation in the bar like, "Hey, I hear that what’s his name won the Lipton Cup."

Skipper Nevin Snow, trimmer AJ Reiter and bowman Jake Reynolds competed with the worlds best Junior match racers at the Governor's Cup at Balboa Yacht Club in July.
