The Kettenburg & Classic Yacht Regatta was held June 24-26, 2011 with great weather and wind conditions. There were 22 entries, making for lots of wood, varnish and of course, fierce competition.

The second event in an active season of match race sailing commences June 24th with the start of the GoPro Match Cup, where 13 teams from the US, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and Greece will battle for 2 consecutive two-day regattas.

San Diego has been anticipating this week’s Etchells World Championship with a year-long series of competitive sailing battles off the shores of Point Loma California .

The 2011 Etchells World Championship regatta was constructed as a 9 race series with one throwout score.  USA and San Diego Yacht Club’s Bill Hardesty, Steve Hunt, Mandi Markee and Craig Leweck needed only 8 races to secure the World Championship title.

On Day 4 of the 2011 Etchells World Championship regatta in San Diego, CA, one race was scheduled at the regular 1200 warning signal time.  However the race didn't actually get started until 1241 thanks to three General Recalls.
