Welcome Competitors!

On behalf of the members of Etchells Fleet 13, we welcome you to the SLAM 2013 Midwinters West Regatta hosted by San Diego Yacht Club and sponsored by Point Loma Outfitting.

The Midwinters West Regatta was founded by Fleet 13 in 1994 and continues to be one of the top annual Etchells class competitions in the US. Many of the past winners, including Andy LaDow, Bill Hardesty, Bruce Nelson, Chris Busch and Vince Brun, are expected to compete again this year and will be challenged by a growing number of fast Etchells sailors from San Diego to Seattle.

In addition to three days of great racing, this year’s event will feature an informative post-racing debrief session in SDYC’s Malin Burnham Sailing Center following Friday’s racing, a Saturday evening keg and dinner party for the crews and their guests, and the traditionally generous prize-giving ceremony hosted by Tom Carruthers of Point Loma Outfitting on Sunday.

So we look forward to another great event and three days of superb racing and competition.
