In under three months’ time, the America’s Cup World Series will land in San Diego for the U.S. debut of the new look America’s Cup.

During the week of August 8th my crew, Jeff Aschieris and I began competing in the 2011 Snipe World Championship held in Rungsted, Denmark. Jeff and I had been preparing for this event for over a year and we qualified by winning the Silver Cup in Lake Carlyle, Illinois last Fall.

Matt Morris spent late August in La Rochelle, France for both the Youth and Men's Laser Radial World Championship regattas.  The Men's Championship had 131 competitors from 41 countries, and the Youth Championship had 272 competitors from 42 countries.

Congratulations to skipper Chuck Driscoll and Team SDYC in their successful defense of the Lipton Cup.

The Junior Sabot Nationals take place at Newport Harbor Yacht Club August 8-11, 2011. SDYC had great success in the Monday Qualifying round, with most of the SDYC sailors making it to the next round.
