What a week at NHYC! Great job, Team SDYC sailors, coaches, and parents, taking on the challenging 2019 INSA Junior Sabot Nationals.
Congratulations to 2019 Champion, Anton Schmid! Anton's had quite a run this summer, repeating his Sabot II Invitational (U12) title, winning A fleet at the Dutch Shoe; and now we're researching to see if there's ever been a younger Junior Nationals champ. Nice work, from our A fleet Captain!
Team SDYC also stacked up the Gold fleet with 5 out of 10 trophy finsishers:
3rd, Peter Busch
4th, Harrison Strom
7th, Devon Owen
9th, Calvin Schmid (winner of qualifying series, and best overall score without throwouts)
Also impressively making Gold fleet were Cam Spriggs, 18th; Samantha Gardner, 21st; and Joey Richardson, 25th!
Well done, C Fleet Captain, now A-fleeter, Oscar Parzen, finishing 2nd in Silver Fleet; along with Charlotte Plant (first Nats!), Emily Otto, and Ava Gustafson; also making Silver.
Aleks Strom and Cameron Schnoor sailed excellent first Nationals for each, earning Bronze fleet; and Garrett Gardner and Holland Vierling had successful regattas in Iron, and will be veterans next year!
