Members are discouraged from bringing:
Dogs are still welcome at Buffalo Beach. Catalina Conservancy And San Diego Yacht Club rules insist that all dogs remain leashed while on Catalina Island. Dogs must be cleaned up after immediately. Uncontrolled barking will not be permitted (by dogs or owners). There is no exception to the doggie rules. Comply, or owner will be asked to leave. The dog can stay.
Neighboring Camps: by no means are we welcome to trespass on our neighboring camps property. Our immediate neighbor, MSA, operates as a youth camp and Airbnb. Adults found wondering through the camp while youth groups are present could face criminal charges. While passing through the camp you must stay on the road. We are not welcome to use their restrooms, showers, or playground facility. There is a small store within MSA’s main building which we may patronize.
Jumping from the pier is strictly prohibited. Our host, the Catalina Conservancy insists that no member or guest jump from the pier at any time for any circumstance.
It is dangerous, and against Los Angeles County code, punishable by fines from $100-$500, and/or 30 days in L.A. County Correctional Facility (Avalon).
Trash is picked up at your boat every Saturday and Sunday morning. Simply leave your trash on the swim platform and it will be picked up. You may drop your trash at the Green Pier in Avalon FOR FREE. Trash from boats may not be brought ashore. There is no exception to this rule. We have no resources or facility to handle outside trash. Members who violate this rule will find their account charged the cost of this service at $35.00 per bag.
