The women who attended the March 6th Luncheon were treated to great show from Tiffany & Company. A short video informed us about the history of the company and its contributions to jewelry since 1837. Then, four lucky SDYC women modeled Tiffany jewelry from the company’s four current designers. Percia Amedee, Sue Slaght, Marjorie Kissel, and Sabrina Abady were adorned with earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings -- very lucky ladies!
In addition, two Tiffany & Co.representatives wore jewelry made from a new metal, called RUBEDO, made from silver, gold and copper. The pink metal has been developed by Tiffany in honor of its 175th anniversary.
And, in support of our Women’s Luncheon Raffles, to benefit Operation: Holiday Helping Hand, Tiffany & Co, donated a beautiful sterling silver Tiffany Key necklace with 30 inch chain, worth nearly four hundred dollars. As a result, we brought in more than $1,000 in raffle sales to assist our local military, who could use some help at the holidays...and a very lucky SDYC member won the necklace!
Our next Women’s Luncheon will be May 1st, with our own Dr. Diane Schneider educating us on an important topic: "Are You Sabotaging Your Bone Health?" The presentation will draw on her recent book, The Complete Book of Bone Health. She will also be available for book signing available after lunch, so please bring a copy of Diane's book for an autograph.
Reservations for the May Luncheon will again be online. We have made changes to the sign up page to improve the process for requesting tablemates. Our sincerest apologies to those who did not have their requests as desired. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to improve registration.
