Dock Refurbishment Updates

By | January 10, 2013

Joe Ravitch, 3/17/13

Dock construction is obviously on hold for the weekend, but we wanted to let everyone know that it is expected that E-Dock will be complete by about the first of April. We've sent out emails to members on F-Dock requesting that items are removed by March 29th.

Joe Ravitch, 3/13/13

Construction is moving along on the docks, and the crew is working near E-39 and E-86. They'll be working their way down the three fingers of E-Dock over the next 2.5-3 weeks. We will send letters to the members on F-Dock tomorrow, asking that your items are removed from your dock box by March 30th. Please do remember to use caution as you walk the docks. There are loose boards in the construction zone.

Joe Ravitch, 3/1/13

Power to D-Dock is going to be out until about 2:20.

Joe Ravtich, 2/26/13

There are no planned shore power or water interruptions, however we want our members to be aware that they could occur. When they have occurred, the outage lasted about 2 hours. The dock crew is working on D-Dock, and running a bit behind schedule. We will continue to update you, and very much appreciate everyone's great attitude toward this project.

Joe Ravitch, 2/21/13

The water service was restored to B-Dock about 30 minutes ago. We apologize for any inconvenience. The crew is finishing up C-Dock, and beginning D-Dock. We will email members with a Rack on A/B-Docks once we observe the Racks have been placed back onto the dock. Thanks again, everyone, for all of your help to ensure efficiency!

Joe Ravitch, 2/21/13

The water to B-Dock has to be turned off for about 30 minutes. We will send an email to our members on B-Dock if it is going to exceed one hour. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Brian Stanford, 2/19/13

The dock construction crew has begun work on D dock. They are still working on the head of C dock, apparently the weather slowed them down a bit today. The forecast for tomorrow is looking a bit iffy...

Brian Stanford, 2/18/13

The dock construction crew ran into a bit of a snag on C-dock with some electrical issues. Power on C-dock will be out tonight and should be back on relatively early tomorrow morning. Work on C-dock should be completed and work on D-dock should begin tomorrow, as long as the weather cooperates.

Joe Ravitch, 2/16/13

Please be aware that we are in fact not ready for members who have Dinghy Racks along A/B Docks to begin bringing their vessels back. We will update you with another email when we are. That email will come after we view the Racks on the docks. Thank you.

Joe Ravitch, 2/15/13

We hope everyone is doing well. Please know that power has been restored to your dock. However, it will be off again on Monday, February 18th. The outage will be from approximately 8am until 5pm. This is an effort to not have the shore power turned off during the weekend, and to allow the crew to gather all of the parts they need for the upcoming second phase of electrical work. Again, this was an unforeseen circumstance, and we thank you very much for your patience

Joe Ravitch, 2/15/13

We are really sorry for the inconvenience, C-Dock, however the power will be out all day today. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance during the interruption.

Joe Ravitch, 2/14/13

A and B Docks will be without power for about 30 minutes starting at10:00 AM on Thursday, 2/14.

Joe Ravitch, 2/6/13

Thanks, members, for your patience and many kind words about the dock project. Our office certainly appreciates it! We wanted to inform you that B-Dock is about 98% complete. There are still a few shore power pedestals and dock boxes to be replaced, and the dock connecting B and C is yet to be completed. We sent emails requesting those members on D-Dock asking them to remove their items by 2/15/13, and will send a letter to them tomorrow as well. Work on C-Dock has begun, and they should be finished with C-38 through C-43 today. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions.

Joe Ravitch, 2/2/13

The crew worked on the docks today in order to make up for a rain day. B11 through B-51 is nearly complete, although it will still be a few days until dock boxes and shore power pedestals are reinstalled. Please know that we still are not yet ready for your dinghies and kayaks to be returned yet, for those of you with Racks along A/B-Docks. We will continue to update you, and hope you feel free to call us with any questions. Have a great evening!

Joe Ravitch, 1/31/13

The dock project is moving along. Our office does want everyone to use extreme care while on B-Dock. Please be very aware of your surroundings as you make your way on the dock, especially at nighttime. Slips B-24 through B-36 are just about done.

Joe Ravitch, 1/26/13

Due to the rain, there is nothing to report on the dock project. Weather permitting, the crew is expected to pick back up Monday, or when the rain ends. The contractors are not currently scheduled to work on weekends. So we'll update you again on Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone, and please don't hesitate to contact us if we can assist you.

Joe Ravitch, 1/25/13

The rain has led to a slight delay, but we are sure that the work will pick up promptly as soon as our usual weather persists. A-Dock is about 98% complete. There is an area by A-1 that is not complete, and marked with cones for your safety. In addition, the power pedestals are yet to be fastened on A-Dock. All dock boxes have been replaced on A-Dock, so you should feel free to retake possession of them. The work on B-Dock has begun. There are a few areas, such as B-15, 23, and 35, marked with cones and painted markings on the docks to keep you safe. Please use extra caution when accessing Slips B-32 through B-36, as there are several cautionary areas. All of our members on C-Dock were sent a letter and email asking that they would please remove their items from dock boxes by Saturday, February 1st. However, due to the rain, we now ask that you please ensure items are removed by Friday, February 8th.

Joe Ravitch, 1/17/13

We hope all is going well, and that you are enjoying this great weather today! By the end of the day we expect that the contractors will be finished with the areas in front of A-7 through A-46. And we think they'll finish A-Dock tomorrow. Have a great evening, everyone!

Joe Ravitch, 1/16/13

Slips A-13 through A-39 have been completed. We are working on details related to exactly when you can take possession of your dock box, and will continue to update you daily.

Joe Ravitch, 1/16/13

I spoke with the contractors this morning, and they project to be finished with A-12 through A-39 today. The dock boxes will start to be replaced beginning Monday. We will shoot for having them replaced on Saturday and Sunday, and keep everyone posted as to when, exactly, they can begin moving their items back into their boxes.

Joe Ravitch, 1/12/13

Regarding the dock project, A-17 through A-32 has been completed. However, we are awaiting the dock boxes being replaced and refastened. Once they're replaced, I'll post that info on Clubster. There will not be any more work this weekend. I'll be working Sunday and off Mon/Tues. But watch for updates from my office even in my absence.

Joe Ravitch, 1/11/13

The docks are coming along nicely! The contractors predict to finish the main walkways in front of A-16 through A-33 before the end of the day. Today and each Friday, the crew will remove the boom that sits behind the boats in the docks where work is being conducted. Therefore, you will not need to worry about it being behind your boat and preventing ingress/egress to your slip. However, Monday through Thursday the boom is most likely going to stay in the water behind the boats. So, if work is being conducted on your dock, and you are aiming to take your boat out or bring it back in, please call our office to determine if the boom is behind your boat. If it is, we will arrange to have it removed for you to use your boat. Thank you!

Joe Ravitch, 1/10/13

The dock project is still moving forward, despite the inclement weather. Those on B-Dock are going to be receiving a message soon about removing items from their dock boxes. Please continue to tune in to Clubster for your daily updates! Oh, and as we have pointed out to some, we will be handling the moving of your dinghies from Racks, in the event that you do not get to it. We'll handle every vessel with extreme care, but the Club cannot be liable for claims following the moves. Thanks, everyone, for your cooperation!

Joe Ravitch, 1/9/13

The work on A-Dock has begun, and as I checked the dock boxes and talked to the crew, it was great to see that each and every member on A-Dock removed their items. Thanks, everyone! We will continue to furnish the most up-to-date information through Clubster.

John Mazula, 1/9/13

During the dock refurb project, docks will experience temporary power & water outages. Both will be turned on at the end of each work day by 4pm.

John Mazula, 1/7/13

Due to materials delay the dock refurb start date has been pushed back to Wednesday 1/9/13. Sorry for any inconvenience.
