By Casey Allocco & Jared Wohlgemuth | January 13, 2022

Commodore Jeffrey Tadder joins us this week on the San Diego Yacht Club Sailcast to talk about his hobbies on the water, upcoming events and his goals for his term as Commodore.

Commodore Tadder starts the conversation telling host Alli Bell about how he was born and raised on the East Coast and a little bit about his childhood on the water. After graduation, Commodore Tadder moved to San Diego, where he spent years interning in Newport Beach before making his way down to San Diego to chase the better surf and sun. From there, he tells us about his family, including his wife Anne who beautifully decorated the Club for Christmas, his twin girls at college, his youngest daughter, and his two dogs.

He then told the evolution of his involvement at SDYC and how he wanted to be around the water and boats and give his family these experiences, including his love for fishing.

"There's never been a bad day on the water for me," he says gladly.

Commodore Tadder talks about his most recent "Covid purchase" aka his new fishing boat. He expressed the importance of the Club being member-run and how well the organization was set up and maintains success.

To finish the episode, Commodore talks about this year's goals for the Club including the entry way, Guard Shack, dining room improvements, juniors' ramp, and general sprucing up around the Club. He and Alli Bell review a couple of the upcoming events, including Women's Winter Invitational, Club Champs and the PV Race.
