Dr. Monika Kiripolsky, a board certified Dermatologist, provided SDYC women and their guests with very valuable information on skin care and repair. We all learned, in detail, the harmful effects of sun damage, the importance of always using sunscreen, and some options for repairing sun-damaged skin.
Dr. Kiripolsky educated us on what SPF really means, what the limitations are in sunscreens without UVA protection, and how often to apply sunscreen for adequate protection. She also shared before and after photos of patients who received varying treatments for repairing damaged skin. She also discussed pros and cons to differing treatments.
Dr. Kiripolsky was so inundated with questions following her presentation, she moved to the Member’s Lounge, where she continued to answer questions from dozens of women for nearly an hour. For those who were unable to stay after lunch, but would like to contact her, she can be reached through her website: www.doctormonikakiripolsky.com
The other news for Women’s Luncheons is that we are taking the summer off. Our next Luncheon will be September 11th. Admiral Forrest Faison, Commander, Naval Medical Center San Diego, and an SDYC Service Member, will bring us an update on our wounded warriors and progress in their treatment and care.
In view of the subject of ADM Faison’s presentation, the September Luncheon will be open to include men. The men can choose to reserve their own tables if they wish! Registration will open soon, so watch for the announcement in the SDYC email blast and the Mainsheet. Please Register Online for your seat and request your tablemates. See you in September!
