By | June 27, 2014

The 2014 Kettenburg & Classic Yacht Regatta begins today and runs through the weekend. There are a number of dockside and on-the-water opportunities to participate. This year's regatta has attracted entries far and wide and with more than 30 boats entered in the Sunday racing action, the regatta is poised to be one of the most memorable in recent times! Advance ticket reservations for only $25 are still available for purchase online for the Saturday night post-race Santa Maria-style BBQ dinner and post-dinner presentation.

All regatta participants are especially encouraged to enter the Hughes Marino KCY Charity Cup Race on Sunday, June 29, by making a contribution to the KCY Charity Cup. All proceeds raised will be donated to the beneficiaries designated by the top three finishing (corrected time) race entries, selected from the following worthy causes: Maritime Museum of San Diego; Ronald McDonald House Charities - San Diego, and Southern California Youth Sailing Programs. Take home trophies will be awarded to boats finishing in 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place. The boat that finishes in 1st place will also be awarded the inaugural KCY Charity Cup perpetual trophy.

The KCY Charity Cup perpetual trophy will be displayed for puclic viewing at the Ancient Mariners Sailing Society exhibition aboard the Berkeley following the regatta. Entry in the 2014 Hughes Marino KCY Charity Cup Race affords the opportunity for boasting rights as the inaugural winner of this beautiful cup trophy. Sign up, contribute to the cup and enter today before 4:00 PM. Good luck to all participants in the weekend racing.
