Back from Mexico and straight into the fire! With thanks to our team of Jeff and Jared in the Sailing Office and Chair Steve Malowney and his volunteer team, our PV Race was a great event and planning is already underway for 2014. Now we are all home and the fun never stops.
We appreciate your continued patience as we work to conclude the refurbishment of our two hoist platforms. We made the decision to do the work now vs. later while we had surplus loan funds available from the Sailing Center project. We are glad we did because the internal damage turned out to me much more extensive than expected and delaying this project further could have led to tragic consequences. We have made the decision to do the job the absolute right way and complete everything while the patient is open, which has resulted in more time and expense. We will have the hoists available for the Etchells Midwinters West next weekend and then completely wrap it up shortly thereafter.
This week we had our semi-annual cocktail reception to welcome our latest class of new members. Sponsors also attended and were acknowledged for their efforts in bringing new blood into our Club. Remember, if you know of someone who would fit in around here, please plant the seed with them to join. If there is interest and finances are an issue, we will work to make it work! I look forward to welcoming you and your new member next Fall when we host our next Cocktail party.
