Special Notice to All SDYC Members:
The proposed MARINA REFURBISHMENT / REPLACEMENT PLAN will be open for discussion again at the second "Town Hall Meeting" for the Membership this Saturday, May 7, at 1000 Hours in the Club Room. At the first "Town Hall Meeting" last week ideas were brought forward which the Flag Officers and Directors have considered and will be listening for additional member input on Saturday.
As everyone should be aware SDYC is required as a provision of the recent 40 year Port Lease renewal to replace our entire dock system by 2029. Furthermore, our present docks must be refurbished and dredging needs must addressed within the next two years to make our present docks last until the date they must be replaced.
An ASSESSMENT and a general SLIP RATE INCREASE will be needed to raise the funds to meet our obligations. The Board of Directors, Finance, Port Captain's and Facilities Committees as well as the Marina Evaluation Committee have worked since 2008 on the PLAN which will be voted upon at the Semi-Annual Meeting of the Membership on Monday, June 13, 2011. We now need your input.
Please be sure to attend at 1000 Hours on Saturday, May 7, to be informed and express your views for consideration in preparation of the ballot measure.
