Memorial Day weekend! Hopefully the sun will come out and we can all have fun on the water. Regardless of the weather, the Star Fleet will be out in force with the 50th edition of the Rollins Bowl on Saturday and Sunday. Also, the Buffalo Beach Bash will be pumping out the fun in support of our Catalina outstation. I am sure that with Jim and Susy Dorsey leading their group of BB activists, this will be a great time. I hope to see you there when the first "chip" is tossed on Sunday.
Save the date… On October 6th, we will be holding Sail 2012, our tri-annual fundraising gala to benefit our world class Junior Program. While operational expenses are covered by program revenues, the purchase of assets is not. Past events have provided funding, with the assistance of our Sailing Foundation (for tax benefits) to purchase sabots and FJ's as well as support boats and engines to support our various programs. Since our program benefitted from a donation following the FUBAR rally a few years ago, it’s been several years since this event has been held. This is an important year and I hope that you can support our program by planning to attend. If you have auction items or other means of supporting Sail 2012 ahead of time, please contact Terry Anglin and he will put you in touch with the right folks to work things out.
