It looks like we made it through the Christmas party season in one piece! It's hard to grasp, but according to Terry Anglin SDYC staged 92 holiday events this month! I believe that this speaks to the strength of our staff at SDYC when we can accommodate this level of activity and my hat is off to Alyssa and Amy in our catering department as well as our entire team. Now it's time to relax a bit as we prepare for the full year that lies ahead of us.
Initial projects that will start soon include the AV upgrade for the clubhouse. No more cracking and fading microphones, and we'll have better sounding speakers. Ease of use is a big priority and I look forward to our new sound. We also just received permits for the rehab of both hoist platforms, so that work will commence as soon as we can get the crews scheduled. We have mandated that at least one of the hoists will be functioning at all times and that regatta weekends will not be affected, however unexpected things can happen so plan ahead and check to make sure there are no issues before it's too late. Lastly, the auditors were in and now out of the Club this week and have retreated to their dimly-lit offices to pour over their new-found information. Our GM said that, with the recent project of aligning our financials with our audit formats, this was the smoothest audit in memory and that we should have the results in a few weeks.
Only one more thing to accomplish this month and that is the New Years Eve party next weekend. We hit the sold-out mark earlier this week and we are now adding some extra seating in other rooms to accommodate overflow. If you are still interested in joining us there are a few new spots. Until I see you all then, I want to wish every SDYC member and family a joyous Holiday weekend. I hope that Santa took copious notes during his recent SDYC visit so that all the kiddos get everything they asked for.
Merry Christmas!
