We have a new member to the SD Fleet! While we will miss Tony Wilson, the new owner of #78 is Dave Gardner. You may know Dave as he owns a machine shop on Shelter Island on Canon St. Dave has done work for me in the past, participates in the San Diego Wooden Boat Festival each year by donating Tee Shirts for the raffle and has a son, Shawn, who is an avid Sabot sailor. I am going to track Dave down and get the skinny as to where he is keeping the boat and what his plans are.
Captain Hurlburt has been very good about sending out point totals to determine who will be the PC Champion this year. If you have been following the results, you will see that there are 6-7 boats are are VERY close! The PC Nationals will be an important regatta for the champ so get out there and start practicing those 'chute sets and take downs!! The National's will be held on Sept. 12th and 13th.
