The 2012 PC Fleet Championship will be held May 19 and 20. The format will be similar to the Nationals with 3 races Saturday and 2 races Sunday. Coronado Yacht Club will be our host club and their Race Committee will be running the races. The course will be in the South Bay with the starting area near Buoy # 26-28. The races will be windward-leeward with legs of 3/4 to 1 mile.
CYC has made their front dock available for PC rafting Friday night and Saturday night. It will also be available on Sunday night. We will have some tow boats available on Sunday to return to SDYC. The trophy presentation will be at CYC immediately after the last race Sunday to facilitate getting our boats back that evening.
The first race on Saturday is scheduled for 12:00. It will be a tight fit to sail down from SDYC on that morning but we have done it for the One-Half Pint Race. We will delay for known late boats and will need VHF contact with you. We will be able to register for the series on the CYC web site , much as we do at SDYC, with NOR and SI obtained. I will let you know when that is open.
Saturday night we have scheduled a wonderful Hawaiian dinner with wine at CYC. This requires sign-up with me. I have arranged to take the information for race signup and dinner to accounting at SDYC for direct billing to your account. Those fleet members that are not SDYC members must send a check to me at 560 San Elijo St., San Diego, Ca. 92106.
The charges:
1- Regatta registration- $40.00 per boat.
2- Saturday night dinner- $ 25.00 per diner.
I now am taking reservations for both of above- We do expect a full PC turnout for the regatta. We do require a good turnout for the dinner and must know by the caterer's cut off date of May 9th. The preliminary expression of participation encouraged us to organize this event and now I need your sign-up. It will be special opportunity to race in South Bay and enjoy a special fleet dinner party.
