SDYC has a cycling problem. In order to solve it, we get together and ride as often as possible. Our spiritual leader Tina Logan juggles a busy worldwide travel schedule with a never ending well of energy to keep our wheels turning, which keeps the group motivated and in shape year round. 2021 was bookended by the addition of a series of themed wine dinners based around the grand tours in Europe (Giro d'Italia, TDF, Vuelta Espana), mixed in with the annual Ride Around the Bay on July 4th weekend, and finally another go at the Tour-d'Bay in December. All levels of riders are included and encouraged on these events as we have mountain bikers, E-bikers, tri-bikes, and just flat-out weekend warriors who press their fitness levels and do a bit of showing off at the pointy end of the fleet. This holiday ride was punctuated by perfect San Diego conditions, including a rare tailwind up the Silver Strand on the sprint to make the ferry. We're happy to say no one was left behind and thanks to our Fleet dues, the ferry tickets were covered again this trip.
