By | July 29, 2014

Maybe it really is a small world after all. San Diego Yacht Club is being represented in Kingston, Canada by junior alum Zack Downing and Zack Malcolm for the 29er World Championships. Already off to a great start, Downing is currently the top U.S. team and holds the fourth place position after the first four races have been completed. Malcolm is currently in 30th out of 101 total teams and vying to make the top 25 in order to qualify for the Gold Fleet finals. Both are crewing on separate boats, Downing is sailing with crew Riley Gibbs of Alamitos Bay and Malcolm with skipper Max Brill of Mission Bay Yacht Club.

The qualifying series continues until July 30, and the three-day final series will begin on July 31.
