SDYC members have stepped up once again to help one another during the wild fires this week. It is heartbreaking our little corner of the world has to go through this every so often, but the doors of SDYC members fly open to fellow members who have had to evacuate their homes… family takes care of family. Thank you all who have helped and all the best to those of you who have had to scramble to get out of the way of the fires.
The Sailing Supply Etchells ORCA Bowl is this weekend… super high caliber racing at SDYC. Several ORCA Etchells teams will be heading off to the Etchells Worlds in Newport, RI in June. Rumor is over 90 boats have registered for the Etchells Worlds, and not a marshmallow among them. Tough racing at SDYC this weekend!
!Thriller! – 2014 High School Nationals for the Clifford Mallory Trophy – !Thriller!
From the coaches lips to your ears… the dramatic "inside story" about how PLHS Pointers pulled off an incredibly exciting High School Double handed Mallory National Championship last weekend – literally in the last 15 seconds of the final race. The regatta was hosted by SDYC and sailed from the Broadway Pier venue in CFJ’s. SDYC set a new bar for hosting high school sailing regattas – kudos all around but a special shout out to Director Reiter, Danielle Richards, Jeff Johnson and John Fretwell for pulling all the organizational levers.
Well worth 4 minutes to read… Congrats SDYC and Pointers.
