What An Amazing Week

By | December 16, 2011

What an amazing week! Saturday was Operation Holiday Helping Hand where Ed Letzring and his helpers raised a record amount, used to assist 62 military families. Sunday brought a surprise microburst, which left a foot of new snow on the sail-drying lawn and entertained the kids for hours on their sleds. Santa even showed up to see what was going on! [Children's Christmas Photo Gallery] Monday was a packed annual meeting, where I was thrilled to be installed as Commodore, and Wednesday was the unavoidable Roast and all of the fun and embarrassment that comes with this long-standing SDYC tradition.

Next up is the New Year's Eve celebration. There has been a rumor circulating that this is already sold out. The truth is that while we are very close to selling out, we still have a few spots available. When we thought we were oversold, contingency plans were discussed where options to expand were identified. The good news is that if we need to, we can expand ... however we will need some advance notice to make that happen. If you haven't already made your reservations, please do so ASAP so that we will have time to adjust. If you're too late we will have to turn folks away.

Thanks to everyone who participated or volunteered to make this first, activity-packed week so terrific. It's already been quite a ride!
