Thank you so much for making it possible for my crew Nikki and I to represent SDYC at the Bemis Trophy event in San Francisco, California. It was a great learning experience and I would not trade it for the world. Without your assistance, my trip would not have been possible.

The first day of the regatta it was 14-18 knots with very strong currents. The first day we were very conservative and consistent. We ended the day with a 4, 8, 7, 4 placing us in a respectable third place overall.

The next day we were very excited and hoped that we would place well overall. The winds were roughly 16-20 knots all day. We were very excited to sail that day, and looked forward to every second of racing to come. Every race it seemed we would get a clean start and sail smart, however would not finish in a good position. We were a very light team, which gave us a tremendous disadvantage in such windy conditions. We ended our day with a 12, 16, 8, 9.

The last day was just as frustrating as the preceding, and we scored a 12, 19 ending the regatta in 8th place. Although we were hoping for a better result, we still had an excellent time sailing at a new venue and representing SDYC in the best sport in the world.

Without your continuous support, I would not be able to enjoy the great sport of sailing. Thank you.
