The Yachting Cup Regatta has already begun and the Ton Cup match racing series is underway so come down to the Club and see the action off the end of E-Dock… there should be plenty of it. If you miss today, we will be going all weekend with nightly parties happening now through Sunday in the clubhouse. If you aren't racing stop by anyway and have some fun.
On a serious note, a week ago tonight the crew of Aegean was lost at sea while participating in the annual Newport to Ensenada Race. As more information has come to light, it is now apparent that they did not have a collision with a ship and instead ran into the north face of North Coronado Island while motor-sailing in calm, clear conditions. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Aegean crew and their families. Let's use this as a reminder that, no matter the conditions, we always need to be careful when we are at sea. Day or night, things can happen quickly out there so be prepared for the unexpected and stay alert.
