The final day of the U.S. Team Racing Championship ended up being a half day of sailing due to a complete wind shutdown. However, the fleet completed enough races to count Gold Round Robin 3 and crown Ladies and Gentlemen as the back-to-back Team Racing Champions.
Paul Didham spent the summer competing in a number of championship regattas around the country including the Laser Nationals, Chubb US Junior Sailing Champs, and the Youth Champs.
It doesn't get closer than this. Skipper Raul Rios and his crew Fernando Monllor won the Snipe Western Hemisphere and Orient Championship by a single point.
The 2014 Bishop Rock Yacht Race, hosted by San Diego Yacht Club, was billed as the "Dare to Take the Challenge" race. The race totals approximately 200 nautical miles, a course full of big wind and large waves.
The US Youth Championship regatta is hosted every year in August. To be able to compete in this event you must fill out an application with all of your top results. My crew, Charlie Miller, and I [Andy Reiter] were lucky enough to be accepted into the US Youth Championships in the Club 420 class.
