As we try to piece together the horrific events of Friday night and early Saturday morning, the crew of Uncontrollable Urge wants to express their appreciation for the support of the sailing and land-based communities at this difficult time.
Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the crew and family of the Uncontrollable Urge. On Friday March 9, 2013 at approximately 9:26 pm, while participating on the 4th annual Islands Race, the crew reported rudder failure on their VHF marine radio.
The 4th annual NHYC/SDYC Islands Race features live race tracking from Yellowbrick Race Trackers. Follow the action live as the fleets race mid-day Friday to a Saturday finish in San Diego.
Thank you for assisting my crew Trevor Hecht and I, to be able to compete in the 2013 Club 420 Midwinters at Jensen Beach, Florida. It was a great experience, and I look forward to attending this following year.
As part of the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club and SDAYC exchange program Charles Lindsay was selected to host an individual from Saint Petersburg Yacht Club in Florida for the Junior Commodore Regatta here in the fall.
