Congratulations Bill Hardesty

By | January 13, 2012

Congratulations to Bill Hardesty for being named as US Sailing's 2011 Rolex Yachtsman of the Year this week. This is the first time since 2000 (Mark Reynolds and JJ Fetter) that SDYC has had this National honor bestowed upon one of our members.

Next Wednesday is the first installment of our Commodore's Luncheon - Late Edition. For those who can't get off work for lunch, we will be having a special Dinner program starting at 5:30 PM... after work. Grab a cocktail and join us in the Dining Room where the program will be set up and pasta night will be in full-swing. The program will feature the story of the Pacific Voyager, a group of native Pacific Islanders crossing the Pacific in their traditional vessels to strengthen their ties with the sea. You've probably seen their vessels, which are berthed for the Winter in La Playa Basin across from the Club. Please, please make reservations if possible so that we can properly plan for everyone ahead of time as this will improve the staff's ability to properly service this new concept.

For those who want to come down for Lunch on Wednesday afternoon and hang out with the guys, we will have a special table set up for the regular Wednesday Lunch crowd in the Dining Room. For those who would prefer their pasta night without the program, we will accommodate seating in the Spinnaker Room and bar.
