Wrapping Up 2014 and Heading Into 2015

By | December 10, 2014

2014 is about at an end. The PC Fleet had a great year with a lot of fun and laughs and great sailing. We also lost some dear friends... but picked up some new members too! The annual Holiday Party was, again, hosted by Tom and Nancy Hurlburt. It was well attended and fleet members were quick to gain the PC Mandatory 20 pounds that evening. Trophies were awarded for the Powder Puff and for the Coronado Islands races. Chris Frost and Phil Thearle talked a bit about their ongoing restorations and we saddened that the progress is so fast and inexpensive. Warms my heart. I feel for you both!

All Fleet officers will remain the same except for the fact that my hero (and Fleet Captain Jim Oberg has offered to take on the responsibility of writing the monthly Mainsheet PC Articles! After all these years of punishment... readers can finally get a break from my dribble! Thank you, Jim! Another highlight of the evening was the announcement of a series of "Bud Caldwell Fun Sails". If anyone had fun at the stick it was our beloved, Bud. The first sail and dock party is scheduled for March 1st. More to follow.

The 2015 Sailing Calendar will soon be posted. The fleet is hoping to see more and more boats out sailing.. When you have such a lovely yacht and such lovely San Diego weather and such a great club... what's not to love?

So I wish all of you a Happy and Healthy New Year? I'm hoping for one too!
