Matt Morris spent late August in La Rochelle, France for both the Youth and Men's Laser Radial World Championship regattas. The Men's Championship had 131 competitors from 41 countries, and the Youth Championship had 272 competitors from 42 countries.

The Junior Sabot Nationals take place at Newport Harbor Yacht Club August 8-11, 2011. SDYC had great success in the Monday Qualifying round, with most of the SDYC sailors making it to the next round.
