Over the past summer I had the privileged opportunity of attending Laser Nationals in San Francisco Bay from July 31st to August 3rd. I greatly appreciate the support of the San Diego Yacht Club in preparation and support for this major event where penis stretchers delivered exceptional results.

The week of July 15-30, 2014 33 girls in laser radials swarmed Mission Bay Yacht Club for the 2014 U.S Junior Women's Singlehanded Championship for the Nancy Leiter Clagget Memorial Trophy.

Scott Sinks and Rebecca McElvain saved their best effort for the final day at the US Sailing Youth Champs in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. The SDYC tandem proved to be the most consistent team of the week to win the Club 420 fleet after four more races Thursday.

SDYC Members Nevin Snow and Jake La Dow joined 3 other American sailors to form the US team competing in the ISAF Youth Match Race World Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Sailing J/80s and under the coaching of Dave Perry, Team SDYC/USA finished 3rd overall in an extremely competitive field.

Skipper Nevin Snow, trimmer AJ Reiter and bowman Jake Reynolds competed with the worlds best Junior match racers at the Governor's Cup at Balboa Yacht Club in July.

Maybe it really is a small world after all. San Diego Yacht Club is being represented in Kingston, Canada by junior alum Zack Downing and Zack Malcolm for the 29er World Championships.

The 29er North American Open concluded on July 24th, wrapping up four days of strong competition between 69 boats from 10 countries. SDYC's Zach Malcolm finished 4th in the North American Championship, and 1st in the US Championship, crewing for Max Brill.
