Four PC’s were out on the bay racing on February 4th, in the One Designs and March 4th saw our group in the bay. Thanks to Fleet Captain Dick Stratton for organizing some great events.
Three PC skippers took advantage of the North Sails discount “multi-purchase” offer and placed orders. Thanks to Chris Snow, of North One Designs, for helping us. My plan to restore #8 WINGS is moving forward.
Another exciting report at the meeting was Jack Sutphen announcing the names of recipients of the PC “Caldwell Trophy”. This cup, named for “Mr. PC”, Bud Caldwell, was awarded to those persons who gave “just a little bit more” to help the fleet.
Last month the fleet, again, headed out to the Coronado YC and had a great time. We have, as of late, been enjoying more and more “social sailing” as a group and with the hopes that more and more PC people will join us.
Last month, the PC Fleet “Around the Coronado Islands” race, was enjoyed by the usual PC diehards. Though the winds did not allow the fleet to reach the islands, the event proved to be a great PC event.
A fellow from the LA area recently bought Hull # 61 and is having her trucked down to Koehler Kraft for total restoration. In the meantime, he has purchased #36 (now under restoration and intends to keep both vessels here in San Diego for local sailing!
