The three race Hot Rum series came to a close on the first day of December with Scot Tempesta on his Flying Tiger 10m “Anarchy” finishing on top of the 130 boat fleet. Competitors enjoyed sunny and warm ‘winter’ sailing conditions around the 11.9 miles random leg, pursuit race course located off Point Loma.
Congratulations are in order for three graduates of our Junior Program. Jake Reynolds, Jake La Dow and Nevin Snow have been tapped to sail in the Red Bull Youth America's Cup Series, which will be held in San Francisco next September.
ORACLE TEAM USA announced two U.S.-based teams to earn a spot in the final of the Red Bull Youth America's Cup. Three of SDYC's college sailors, Nevin Snow, Jake La Dow, and Jake Reynolds have been selected as sailors on one of the teams.

I was lucky enough to be able to travel to one of the best sailing venues in the world and compete in the 2012 ISSA Singlehanded Championships that could not have provided better sailing conditions.
A PC fleet meeting was held on November 14th. It was nice to see some new faces and to see so many volunteering to help out with fleet business.
