October was a busy month for sailboat racing in San Diego. While the rest of the country slowly slips into Fall, we were out racing.
October 28th brought the fleet the annual “Lady Skipper’s Race”. It was a good turn out with 6 boats in running. Because of the Santa Ana’s.. the winds were kind of "weird" but everyone had a good time.
Thanks again to Jeff Brown and his team who did a great job with the So Cal and North American Championships.
On October 20-21, 2012, SDYC won the prestigious Linda Elias Memorial Women’s One Design Championship run by the Long Beach Yacht Club and the Long Beach Sailing Foundation.
Chris Perkins and the crew of Masquerade stood atop the leaderboard from Race 1 to Race 9 on their way to a dominant perfomance in the 2012 J/105 North American Championship at San Diego Yacht Club.
What a fantastic party last night! If you missed the Taste of Pt. Loma, don't miss another opportunity Saturday night when we host the Surfin' Safari at SDYC. This event is also being held in conjunction with the J/105 North Americans, which is our Club's major regatta of this year, so come down and support what SDYC does best … host top-notch regattas and even better parties.
