On Christmas day, Rebecca McElvain and Scott Sinks traveled to Miami Florida to compete in the 2013 Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta. This was our first major regatta sailing together in C420s, so we were excited to test our skills against the country.
Paris Henken and Aine Fretwell completed the Women's Snipe Nationals, their first regatta together, with a fifth place out of 21 boats. Paris learned a lot about the snipe and found it really exciting to be able to sail outside her normal skiff sailing.

Congratulations to Brad Rodi and the crew of Team SDYC in the one point Lipton Cup victory! Defending champions from California Yacht Club finished second, and Coronado Yacht Club one more point back in third place.
Team SDYC took a trip up North of the Border to the Royal Vancouver YC (RVYC) in Canada in early October. The team consisted of Nick Kaschak, Eric Cibit, Alex Jacobs and Austin Dias.
San Diego's favorite Fall racing series is back! Join San Diego Yacht Club on three Saturdays this fall for the annual Hot Rum Series, November 9, 23 and December 7th. Registration closes for the first race on November 6th.
NEWPORT HARBOR, Calif. (October 6, 2013) – Tyler Sinks' team which was the strongest from start to finish, prevailed to earn the prestigious George R. Hinman Trophy hosted by Newport Harbor Yacht Club.
The 2013 US Sailing Youth Championship was held out of Corpus Christi Yacht Club between the 12th and 16th of August. Known for its very high temperatures and reliable sea breeze, Corpus Christ was a fantastic venue to hold this year’s event.
This past August I competed in the Detroit Cup Match Race Regatta. The event ran from August 21st to August 25th. My team consisted of myself on the helm, Mac Mace on main/tactics, and Taylor Vann on the bow.
Day 1 of Youths saw a steadily increasing sea breeze that began at roughly 1:00 in the afternoon. As we sailed out in hiking conditions, it soon picked up and we were trapezing and nearly overpowered when we arrived to the starting line.
