The 29er tandem of Zack Downing and Andrew Cates were the top local finishers during the recent ISAF Youth Worlds qualifying regatta at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club.

On Christmas Day 2011 I [Patrick Snow, my crew Storm Brown and my dad left for the Open Orange Bowl Regatta in Miami, Florida with the gracious aid of the San Diego Yacht Club Competition Fund.
Ben Mitchell, David Servais and Julie Servais representing the Star Fleet outlasted Team Campbell to be crowned the 1st ever SDYC Club Champions, sailing a great 2-day regatta in La Playa in J/22s.
Thank you so much for making it possible for my crew Colleen Hackett (MBYC) and me to represent SDYC at the Orange Bowl event in Miami, Florida. It was a great learning experience and I would not trade it for the world.
Etchells World Champion Bill Hardesty (San Diego, Calif.) and ISAF (International Sailing Federation) Sailing World Champion Anna Tunnicliffe (Plantation, Fla.) today were named US Sailing’s 2011 Rolex Yachtsman and Yachtswoman of the Year.
SDYC members were scattered across the leaderboard in the 29er fleet at the 2011 Orange Bowl in Miami, FL. Judge Ryan (SDYC), sailing with Hans Henken (StFYC) finished 3rd, and as the top American team in the fleet.
US Sailing’s Olympic Sailing Committee officially will nominate Graham Biehl and Stu McNay to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team, pending approval from the U.S. Olympic Committee.
SEA SD was proud to host the AC World Series in November. SDYC members highly involved in the planning and coordination included John Laun, Chuck Nichols, JJ Fetter, Jeff Brown, Bob Vincent, Troy Sears, Bob Copeland, Bill Engle, Tim Kelley, and Joanne O’Dea.
