There is a lot of emphasis placed on which club and which boat won the Lipton Cup. And, for a few weeks, days or hours after the awards dinner has been digested, the sailors dominate conversation in the bar like, "Hey, I hear that what’s his name won the Lipton Cup."

Skipper Nevin Snow, trimmer AJ Reiter and bowman Jake Reynolds competed with the worlds best Junior match racers at the Governor's Cup at Balboa Yacht Club in July.
Maybe it really is a small world after all. San Diego Yacht Club is being represented in Kingston, Canada by junior alum Zack Downing and Zack Malcolm for the 29er World Championships.
The 29er North American Open concluded on July 24th, wrapping up four days of strong competition between 69 boats from 10 countries. SDYC's Zach Malcolm finished 4th in the North American Championship, and 1st in the US Championship, crewing for Max Brill.
