The 19th annual Wooden Boat Festival was a great success and well represented by #78, Dave Gardner. There were several other PC skippers present who brought other vessels. All proceeds went to "Challanged America" sailors and we all had a good time on Father's Day weekend!
I received a surprise email from a new friend! Steve Gurney was co owner (with Howard Switzer) of #14 from 1970 to 1974. Steve bought the boat from Dennis Conner and raced in the MDR/LA area. It was great of Steve to contact me.
The second annual PC Reunion Regatta held April 26, 2009 was a wonderful event. Thanks to Fleet Captain Hurlburt for bringing it together and for those who participated.
We have a new member to the SD Fleet! While we will miss Tony Wilson, the new owner of #78 is Dave Gardner. You may know Dave as he owns a machine shop on Shelter Island on Canon St.
The fleet continues to grow. Just today, I spoke with the new owner of #83 who saved the boat from being destroyed and is now replacing planks. The previous owner abandoned her and she was saved by Mark in Seattle.
The new Fleet Captain, Tom Hurlburt welcomed new fleet members Holly and Shawn Hervey and made a brief anouncement regarding the coming year's schedule. Tom promised that the well received, Friday Frolic Fun sailing will continue this coming summer.
