PC #6 was NEVER built. Why, you ask? Seems like well known (and accomplished San Diego Sailor) Bob Mann was next in line to have a boat built for him after #5 was completed.
PC #2 was ordered (as were hulls 3 and 4) and commissioned for Joe Jessop, but the Springstead brothers wanted a boat NOW and had the money to pay for it!
The PC fleet was the ONLY One Design fleet on the course for the annual New Years Day race at SDYC!
#63, PUFF, was the only PC to sail the traditional “Swim/Sail/Swim” race and placed 3rd overall.
We have seen some changes in owners within the fleet. Hull #83 recently left Washington state and moved down to San Francisco. Hull #65 (Severn) left Washington, as well, and took up a new home near the Columbia River in Oregon.
Note that October 8th will offer a “PC Bay Race”. This should prove to be one of the “more relaxed” opportunities to join in the race schedule. Please mark your schedule and join in the fun.
