Catching up to 200 years of sailing history in the U.S.A., the National Sailing Center & Hall of Fame (NSHOF) today announced the 15 sailors who will make up the historic first-ever class of inductees into the National Sailing Hall of Fame.
Over the weekend of July 9-10, Jake Reynolds, Jake La Dow and Nevin Snow all traveled up to the San Francisco Yacht Club for the third qualifier for the POW Semifinals.
Sailing at North Cape Yacht Club in LaSalle MI, SDYC's Eric Heim with crew Jess Claflin finished 5th in the 2011 Snipe Nationals. SDYC Junior Director John Fretwell's wife Aine finished 8th overall (sailing from MBYC).
SDYC's Tom Holthus (J/145, Bad Pak) won Transpac Division 4 for the second time in a row. Bad Pak was also the first among SDYC boats to finish on corrected time, winning the "other" Lipton Cup. Additionally, Simon Garland's Peregrine won Division 6.
What a week for SDYC Junior Sailors! Young Helen McCarthy racked up the trifecta in the Dutch Shoe Marathon with 1st to finish, 1st in C Fleet and 1st Girl to Finish.
