SDYC competitors have participated in Certified Clean Regattas around the globe. Now SDYC joins in with our first Registered Clean Regatta, the Etchells Worlds June 6-11.
SDYC’s fleet of J/22s is hosting the Adult Sail Training initiative and will be employed throughout the year to increase maritime education and participation in the sport at all levels for all interested SDYC members. Summer training dates will run from May 5th through August 18th, Mondays and Tuesdays 5:30-8:30PM
Three "town hall" meetings on the Stepped Slip Reserve Plan for the future of our club are behind us now and we are all looking toward the Semi-Annual Meeting at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 13, 2011.
Battling shifting conditions which averaged 10-20 degrees, (with one fifty-five degree shift on Sunday's first race), Bill Hardesty's Line Honors scored two bullets in challenging conditions to overtake Dennis Conner, with crew Tom Parry and Julie Servais.
With 46 entries at post time, the Sailing Supply Orca Bowl gave a preview of the racing anticipated for the 2011 Etchells Worlds as former World Champion and America's Cup icon Dennis Conner led the forty-six boat pack after three races on Saturday, May 21 with 12 points.
The undefeated match racing team from SDYC will go to their third Governor’s Cup Challenge in July due to their first place finish in the second Annual Youth Clinic & Regatta.
