Congratulations to the Point Loma High School sailors who won the National Team Racing Championships in Boston last weekend! I was on the raft-up monitoring the "tweets" coming live from the regatta as they clinched the final race.
Point Loma High has won national sailing championships in the past. In fact, the Pointers had won a total of eight national titles in the two divisions of high school sailing over the past nine years heading into this year’s competitions.
During the celebration in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of sailing at MIT, a three-dimensional stainless steel relief sculpture of Lowell North was mounted on the exterior wall of the west wing of the pavilion overlooking the expansive new floating dock system.

Memorial Day weekend! Hopefully the sun will come out and we can all have fun on the water. Regardless of the weather, the Star Fleet will be out in force with the 50th edition of the Rollins Bowl on Saturday and Sunday.
The J/105’s will be the center of attention come this fall in San Diego, with the SoCal Championship, North American Championship, and International Masters' Regatta all sailing in October and November.
