Our fleet had two days of great racing with 8-11 K S-SW winds allowing for 5 excellent races (with one throw-out). There were 13 boats at the line, representing 3 yacht clubs and two local marinas.
#37, SPOT, should splash soon. Those who attended the Wooden Boat Festival, saw her at the yard and she is looking fine. She now has her mast in, as well as the interior pieces. I am very anxious to see her sail again after 6 years on the hard.
The SDYC PC Fleet celebrated its first (annual?) Open House on Memorial Day, Sunday, on SDYC's Guest Dock and the PC (E) Dock. We gave countless folks information and a close inspection of these Kettenburg beauties and 25 lucky sailors got to enjoy a short sail.
Don’t forget the popular Kettenburg Regatta will be held on June 9th (again sponsored by the Ancient Mariners) and June 15-16th will bring the San Diego Wooden Boat Festival sponsored by Koehler Kraft. This is your opportunity to see many wonderful wooden vessels.
The WINGS restoration is making strong progress. MAS Epoxy (Phoenix Resins, Inc. Cinnaminson, NJ.) has been very generous in donating materials toward the project and I have heard from other vendors as well.
The PC Fleet has been having a lot of fun and excitement lately! The Feb. 10th One Design race had a turn out of 6 PC’s. All boats were well matched and fleet Captain Dave Grundies did well, with YANKEE #72 scoring Dave’s 1st!
